What we Do
Family owned and operated since 2018. Livin' 8 Ranch Camp is a place for kids to come for day camps and special events. We offer camps for students preschool through middle school during regular school breaks. We currently offer several 5 day camps during Spring Break, Summer Break (specific weeks) and a Fall mini camp (3 days - the week of Thanksgiving). Camp activities include equestrian lessons and horse back riding, farm animal interactions, adventure games, archery, ax throwing, group construction projects, devotional lessons and creative time. Registration is open to Students in Preschool (4 years old) through 8th grade. Volunteer and intern/staff opportunities are available for High School Students.
Who we Are
Chaz and Joy McCain opened their family farm to host Ranch Camps in 2021 as an opportunity for children and families to get outside and connect with one another through enriching farm experiences and activities. We love spending time outside, learning new things and doing projects together as well as sharing God's love through building positive relationships with others. As our family has grown, so has our Ranch Camp community! It is a blessing and privilege to serve families in the Bertram, Texas community and surrounding areas.

Our Story
Livin 8 Ranch Camp was a vision born from a dream. When we transitioned to homesteading life in 2018 and moved to Bertram, we never imagined the blessing and transformation that would follow.
After renovating the old farmhouse and barn, we felt led to "share the ranch" and the Lord gave us a vision for ranch camps. Originally started under the name F5 Ranch Camp (named for our five children at the time) Joy and a small group of her friends joined forces to create an enriching and educational day camp for students that would inspire creativity, exploration and connection to nature and other people. Camps took off and grew into an incredible community of friends and family! We have learned so much along the way and have enjoyed challenging ourselves to improve, explore new opportunities, and build new connections with our community. In 2024 with the addition of our sixth child, we updated our name to Livin 8 Ranch, and plan to continue to share the love of free range living with our family of 8 and all who step foot on our property. We aim to be a blessing to our community and the families we serve.
